His views were being canvassed the world over and, of more sinister application, his advanced, revolutionary teachings on armored warfare were being given practical rehearsal in Germany. (Gen. Heinz Guderian said of him: "The theoretical originator of mechanized warfare. I was one of his disciples. ") Throughout the twenties and the thirties his views on future warfare had often been rejected as impracticable in his own country--only to be adopted by her enemies.
