On September 3, 1939 Britain and France entered the war against Nazi Germany. Poland had already been penetrated, near Warsaw, by Germany.
Fighting strongly, the Polish Forces temporarily halted the German troops, only to be stabbed in the back by the Russians' invasion. Poland's fate was sealed and its people were dominated by the dreaded S.S. and Gestapo.
But although the resistance forces were scattered they gathered again to struggle for Polish liberation.
