The heroic story of the evacuation of British forces from Greece in April 1941, following their failed efforts to reinforce the Greek Army against the German invasion. Although Britain rescued 43,000 troops in the effort, they sustained nearly 12,000 casualties and were forced to abandon the heavy equipment. The evacuation was led by the co-author Vice Admiral Baillie-Grohman.
