Celebration of the first hundred years of aviation, illustrated throughout with full-colour paintings by Marshall. It presents the stories of 65 men and women who contributed to that history, in three sections: the dreamers, the doers, and the daredevils. Includes timelines of the people and the vehicles, as well as aircraft specifications, photos and index. Marshall has been painting aircraft since the age of four and worked in the advertising industry as a creative director. His illustrations are found in collections such as those of the Australian Defense Force and Britain's Fleet Air Arm Museum. Harris also worked in the advertising industry before becoming manager for his brother, entertainer Rolf Harris, and writing and producing television documentaries.
